Supplier personnel changes in the hospitality industry have been happening at breakneck speed this spring, with many people switching roles in the food, beverage, equipment and technology sectors.
We round-up some of the latest appointments, departures and promotions to watch.
The Canned Wine Group (above) has appointed its co-founder Ben Franks as chief executive. Franks has taken over from Simon Rollings, who becomes executive chair. Franks will manage plans to scale distribution of the group’s single-serve canned wine range and introduce a tiered proposition within its keg portfolio.

Wholesaler Booker has appointed Neville Irani to the role of managing director for foodservice and SME. Irani will sit as part of the Booker executive team, reporting to Andrew Yaxley, Booker group chief executive, and will be responsible for leading and growing the business’s foodservice and catering arm in the UK. He will join Booker later in the spring, moving across from his most recent role as director of independent foodservice at Brakes.

Drinks firm C&C Group has appointed Adam Phillips as chief financial officer and executive director. He is expected to join the company in April. Phillips joins from Headlam, where he has served as chief financial officer since March 2023. Prior to this, he was group financial controller at Mobico Group (previously National Express), and also held roles at Molson Coors Brewing Company.

Heineken has appointed Romain Apert as chief digital and technology officer and as a member of the Heineken executive team from 15 May. Apert, currently chief information officer of Mars’ petcare division, will succeed Ronald den Elzen. Den Elzen has decided to pursue a new career after 31 years with Heineken, but has remained in the role temporarily to support a smooth transition.

Business management consultancy EY has appointed Robert Pyle, partner in EY-Parthenon’s strategy team, as its new UK and Ireland restaurant sector leader. He will lead EY’s work across the restaurant and out-of-home foodservice market, bringing together expertise from across the firm. Pyle, who joined EY in 2007, has more than 20 years’ experience advising investors as well as consumer, leisure and retail businesses.

Revenue software provider Duetto has appointed Robert Matsuoka (left) as chief technology officer. Matsouka has more than 25 years’ experience scaling systems and teams and building travel tech, including co-founding Citymaps. He joins Duetto to spearhead technology transformation, including managing the industry’s first revenue and profit operating system (RP-OS). The software firm has also promoted Olly Lynch (right) to chief marketing officer from senior vice-president of global marketing to facilitate the firm’s RP-OS ambition.

Catering equipment sector stalwart Steve Elliott has returned to the industry in a new role with Foodservice Equipment Marketing (FEM) and has also launched his own company, Servara Consulting. He will take on a training chef role with FEM, demonstrating Prática Europe high-speed ovens and Venix commercial air fryers, and will be offering business advice for Servara Consulting. Elliott has spent several decades in roles with manufacturers including Falcon, Gram UK and Valentine & Cuisinequip.

Sunrise Beverages has appointed a new sales director. Jerry Shedden brings almost 20 years of director-level experience in fast-moving consumer goods, as well as in-depth knowledge of the drinks industry and hospitality sector from a background that includes roles at AB InBev, Bacardi, Heineken, Brewdog and Asahi.

EFM Global (EFM), an international logistics consultant, has bolstered its hospitality arm with the appointment of Susannah Eustace (pictured) as account director and Joshua Askew as senior project manager, hotel division. The move strengthens EFM’s investment in hotel logistics and supports the company’s plans to grow its luxury hospitality offering. Eustace, previously head of hotel logistics at DB Schenker, brings more than 20 years of experience delivering logistics programmes for hotel openings and refurbishments across Europe and internationally, and Askew has more than 10 years of experience leading complex five-star hotel and logistics projects.

Glenn Campbell, managing director of Cohesion Consulting, has been appointed chairman elect of the Foodservice Consultants Society UK and Ireland (FCSI UK&I). He takes over from Julian Edwards, who has been chair since 2021 and is moving into the FCSI EAME chairmanship in June 2026. Campbell has a background in managing hotels, restaurants, contract catering and education. After working as a consultant since 2018, he founded Cohesion in 2021, which delivered soft services for schools, local authorities and workplace clients.

Biosecurity and hygiene provider Kersia UK has appointed Andrew Downie as its new managing director to lead acquisition integration. Downie brings more than three decades in leadership roles across the food, agriculture and manufacturing industries, including a lengthy tenure at Associated British Foods, where he took operational roles at Patak’s and Silver Spoon.

Following a 39-year tenure, Flexeserve’s technical director Mick Steele has retired from the hot-holding equipment supplier. Steele has passed on his duties to new directors Dan Vallance and Jon White, part of the firm’s engineering, design and technology team.

Property management software firm RMS has made two senior appointments: Nathan Reynolds as chief revenue officer (CRO) and Louise Lysaght as chief customer experience officer. Reynolds is a seasoned software as a service executive and has scaled global revenue teams across multiple regions and complex markets, most recently as CRO at MYOB Enterprise. Lysaght joins from Employment Hero, where she led global digital post-sales engagement. Previously, she spent nearly five years as vice-president of customer experience at HotDoc.

Following its strongest year to date, Edinburgh’s Tailored Spirits Co is expanding its team. The whisky supplier has welcomed Rachel MacRae to the project management and delivery team, recruited creative specialist Hannah Sneddon, and employed Ciara Hutchison Reid as business development and private client manager, with further recruitment planned as growth continues.

Monika, a catering equipment monitoring technology supplier, has promoted Kate Aston to national sales manager. After joining the company in 2018 as a sales consultant with a decade of industry experience, she was promoted to senior sales consultant in 2022. In her latest role, Aston will be responsible for projects and business development across UK and Ireland.

Inntelo AI, an AI-native platform for hotels, has appointed Julia Fernandez Clavera as its AI solutions director for EMEA. Fernandez will lead all prospect and customer engagement for hotels and operators across EMEA as they implement Inntelo’s platform. She brings more than 18 years’ global experience across hospitality brands, including First Group Hospitality, Accor, Marriott International and Ritz-Carlton.

The alcohol industry’s Independent Complaints Panel (ICP) has appointed three new panel members: Karen Betts, Matt Barwell and Richard Schofield. Betts is the chief executive of the Food & Drink Federation and is a former chief executive of the Scotch Whisky Association. Barwell has extensive experience working in marketing, corporate affairs and sustainability for Mars, Diageo and Britvic, and currently serves as a board advisor for Accenture. Schofield is a senior civil servant and former chief planning inspector for England, with extensive experience of chairing public inquiries.
