Arla Pro’s competition returns with prizes of £5,000 and business-supporting rewards
Arla Pro’s Britain’s Best Pizza competition returns on Monday 4 May, inviting UK independent pizza operators to submit their most innovative pizza for a chance to win £5,000 and business-supporting rewards.
Created by dairy product supplier Arla Pro, the competition provides a platform for independents to showcase craft and gain recognition at a time of tough trading conditions.
“Independent operators are facing sustained pressure from all angles right now but they’re also some of the most creative and resilient businesses in hospitality,” said Matt Walker, senior director of foodservice at Arla Foods UK.
“Britain’s Best Pizza is about more than competition. It’s about supporting those operators with products, expertise and recognition that can make a real difference to their business.”
The competition is open to independent pizza operators across the UK, with entries accepted from 4 May 2026 for a six-week period. Following initial review, the top 15 entrants will advance to a mystery dining stage.
Entrants will have the opportunity to receive a complimentary Arla Pro Mozzarella Block upon entry. Those shortlisted will receive a curated ‘Mystery Box’ of products, along with access to Arla Pro’s latest product innovation. The overall winners will receive £5,000 in cash and a tailored masterclass with leading pizza consultant Marco Fuso, designed to deliver practical, long-term impact for their business.
Judging brings together technical expertise, operator insight and consumer perspective, including Fuso, food reviewers Gerry and Paul from BiteTwice and a returning competition winner.
“I want to see pizzas that are bold, creative and full of personality,” said Fuso. “The winning pizza must have a great base and outstanding aroma and texture – it’s about creating something truly memorable.”
Britain’s Best Pizza recognises and supports the independent operators who shape the UK pizza landscape with practical prizes and profile-building opportunities.
