French bakery manufacturer Bridor has unveiled a new pistachio-filled croissant to tap into the growing demand for pistachio-flavoured products. Made with Bridor’s pure butter puff pastry recipe, the crispy and light croissant has a smooth and soft pistachio centre, with a chopped pistachio topping adding a slight crunch. The 85g pistachio-filled croissants are available in a ready-to-bake format, suitable for offering breakfasts and sweet treats during the day.

DTM Print has launched Freddie, a new robotic frosting machine designed to automatically outline and fill biscuits and other confections with icing and frostings. Certified by NSF, it utilises an advanced vision system called FreddieVision and topographic sensors to analyse individual icing recipes and the surface characteristics of each biscuit. This technology allows Freddie to calculate the exact amount of icing required and its precise placement. Freddie operates in both carousel and manual modes, with the carousel able to accommodate up to 12 biscuits at a time. Each filled tube can frost approximately 36 biscuits with a diameter of 8cm at a speed of around one minute per biscuit, depending on frosting thickness.

Sussex-based wholesaler, Elite Fine Foods, part of Caterfood Buying Group (CFBG), is now supplying New Yorker Bagels. The brand, based in New York City, is the largest fresh bagel bakery in the world, baking over 500,000 bagels a day, and its products are now available in the UK for the first time. Elite is listing seven different flavours: the Everything Bagel, Sesame Bagel, Apple Cinnamon Raisin Bagel, French Toast Bagel, Plain Bagel, Poppy Bagel or Onion Bagel, with 72 frozen 115g bagels in each wholesale case.
