Thomas Hine is to launch PL28 Café in Padstow at the end of March
Former Seren Collection chef Thomas Hine has confirmed plans to open his own restaurant in Padstow later this month.
Opening on 27 March, PL28 Café will serve breakfast, brunch and Cornish coffee by day and host a chef’s table supper club serving produce from the South West by night.
It will be a family affair, with Hine serving as chef director, his cousin Will as restaurant manager and his younger brother Fred as sous chef.
Hine said in a post on Instagram: “This is a perfect opportunity to show what I’ve learnt over the years and to do it in my own kitchen in my hometown of Padstow is a privilege… Really appreciate the support we have been shown so far from the locals.”
Hine was previously head chef at Seren’s Coast restaurant in Saundersfoot and was also recently head chef at the Welsh hospitality collection’s Penmaenuchaf hotel near Dolgellau in the Snowdonia National Park.
Prior to that, he was sous chef at the Bath Priory, sous chef at Gidleigh Park in Devon and later executive head chef at Lympstone Manor in Devon.
