The restaurant first opened its doors in London’s Chiswick in 2020
The Michelin Guide-listed Silver Birch restaurant in London’s Chiswick has announced its closure with “very heavy hearts”.
The restaurant was founded by Tim Price and Edward Allsop and opened its doors in late 2020 with Kimberley Hernandez, former head chef at Kym’s and Xu, at the helm.
In 2023, Nathan Cornwell, the former head chef at the Barn in Moor Hall in Lancashire, joined the Silver Birch as head chef.
In an post on Instagram, the Silver Birch team said: “After many wonderful years, it’s with very heavy hearts that we share the news that the Silver Birch will be closing its doors.
“What started as an idea became a restaurant, a team, and a place we were incredibly proud to call part of the Chiswick community.
“We’re immensely proud of what we built here, and grateful for every service, conversation, and person who walked through our doors. From all of us at the Silver Birch, thank you for being part of the journey.”
In February 2024, the former Sunday Times food critic Charlotte Ivers gave the Silver Birch a five-star review and urged readers to visit because “almost nobody knows it’s here”.
The Silver Birch was also crowned AA London Restaurant of the Year 2024.
