Twenty-two restaurants have been awarded Michelin stars at the 2026 ceremony in Dublin
Two new restaurants were awarded their second stars in the 2026 ceremony in Dublin – Row on 5 and Bonheur by Matt Abé, both in London.
Row on 5 was awarded its second Michelin star after winning its first star in last year’s ceremony.
The restaurant’s executive chef Spencer Metzger said the restaurant was “a dream to work in” and chef patron Jason Atherton praised his colleague as “the next generation of talent”.
Bonheur by Matt Abé was awarded two Michelin stars just three months after opening.
Michelin international director Gwendal Poullennec said of Abé: “In a very short space of time this chef has shown that he is very much his own man – expressing a clear vision, distinctive style and future ambition.”
Bonheur sits in the same location as Michel Roux’s restaurant Le Gavroche, which was the first restaurant in the UK to win three Michelin stars.
Bonheur is a new venture in collaboration with chef Gordon Ramsay, who trained at the restaurant when it was Le Gavroche when he was just 22.
Abé said of opening Bonheur in the same location: “It’s daunting and challenging but something I would run to with arms wide open. I just want to continue to legacy, nurture talent and hopefully carry that on for the future.”
“It’s amazing what we’ve done in three months – I’m really proud of the team and all the hard work everyone puts in,” he added.
Both Bonheur and Row on 5 were highly tipped in The Caterer’s Michelin 2026 predictions from critics and chefs alike.
There were no new restaurants awarded a third Michelin star in tonight’s ceremony.
Legado in London was among the restaurants to be awarded its first star in the Michelin Guide Great Britain & Ireland 2026.
Chef Nieves Barragán Mohacho, who opened the restaurant in August in partnership with JKS Restaurant, said: “I have worked so hard on this project for many many years – I am super happy and super happy for the team.”
Other restaurants to win their first star in this year’s ceremony include Jöro in Sheffield and Maré by Rafael Cagali in Brighton and Hove, marking the region’s first Michelin star in almost 50 years.
The Wilderness in Birmingham was also awarded its first Michelin star this evening.
The restaurant’s chef patron Alexander Claridge said of the city’s burgeoning culinary scene: “Birmingham doesn’t take itself too seriously, but it’s serious about food and everyone wants to have a good time. There’s loads of good things happening, despite what’s going on around us, but we keep having a good time.”
Two establishments in the Republic of Ireland were awarded their first star – Forest Avenue in Dublin and the Pullman in Galway.
Two restaurants in Scotland – Killiecrankie House near Pitlochry and 1887 in Torridon – also received their first Michelin star.
Twenty restaurants were awarded their first Michelin star in this year’s ceremony.
No new restaurants were awarded three Michelin stars in 2026 – all the current three-starred restaurants retained their stars.
