The Pearmans are also behind the Double Red Duke in Bampton and the Mason’s Arms in Clanfield

Sam and Georgie Pearman, the duo behind the Double Red Duke, will launch the Wild Duck Inn in the southern Cotswolds on 2 March.
The Wild Duck Inn resides in a sixteenth century, Grade II-listed coaching inn in the town of Ewen and was originally a gardener’s cottage to the nearby Ewen Manor.
Plans for the pub with rooms were first announced in May last year, with an opening date slated for summer 2026.
The upcoming launch marks an addition to the Pearmans’ Country Creatures portfolio, which consists of the Double Red Duke in Bampton and the Mason’s Arms in Clanfield.
Led by general manager George Dean, the property will feature a ground-floor bar with a medieval Inglenook fireplace, serving pints from Stroud brewery Uley, wines curated by head of wine Andrea Domenicucci, and eaux-de-vie.
The Wild Duck Inn will also welcome a 110-cover restaurant led by group executive chef James Adams, previously of Spring and the River Café in London, and head chef Richard Sandiford, formerly head chef at Hawksmoor.
Dishes will include half pint langoustine scampi and tartar; wood-roasted brown trout with beetroot and horseradish Pink Fir’s; and Full English Breakfast with homemade black pudding, chopped brown sauce, bone barrow toast and a sugar pit bacon chop.
Meanwhile, guests will also have the chance to relax in the Inn’s two treatment rooms, which uses products from 100 Acres.
The Pearmans are also directors of the Cubitt House pub group and previously owned Cotswolds hotel and restaurant group the Lucky Onion but left the business in 2017 to pursue other ventures.
