The funds will facilitate upgrades to the hotel’s core infrastructure, including its guest bedrooms
Llechwen Hall hotel in south Wales has secured a £2.3m commercial mortgage facility as it enters its next phase of growth.
The loan from Barclays Business Bank will enable the independently-owned Welsh hotel, which employs more than 100 staff, to expand its offering.
The property already hosts up to 150 weddings a year and will be looking to boost that figure with targeted capital investment, including upgrades to the hotel’s water system, as well as the refurbishment of guest bedrooms and bathrooms.
Ramesh Gor, hotel director at Llechwen Hall hotel, said: “Over the past 20 years, we’ve grown the business steadily from a 20-bedroom hotel into the 44-bedroom venue that we are proud to operate today, and along the way have built a strong reputation in the local market, particularly for weddings and events.
“This support from Barclays allows us to continue along our growth journey, first by refurbishing our bedrooms and bathrooms which will make a real difference to guests from the moment they walk through the door, while also ensuring that we continue to meet the high standards we’ve set for the business.”
Joanna Stark, relationship director at Barclays Business Bank, added: “We’re so pleased to support the entire team and honoured to play a part in enabling them to enhance their guest experience and build on their success in a very competitive market.”
Llechwen Hall hotel dates back to 1720 and is located in the heart of the Cynon Valley. It first became a hotel in 1990 and has been run by its current owners since 2008.
