The two sites will extend the food and drink wholesaler’s service over the next few months
Food and drink wholesaler JJ Foodservice has acquired a 28,000 sq ft site in Ipswich, in addition to an upcoming 33,000 sq ft Nottingham outpost.
Both sites are set to open this year, with Nottingham scheduled to launch this summer.
The openings form part of the group’s rapid national expansion to better support restaurants and caterers across the UK.
The Ipswich site is intended to extend JJ’s reach in Ipswich, Great Yarmouth, Norwich, Colchester and surrounding areas to access a wider choice of products and reliable local service.
Chief operating officer Kaan Hendekli said: “Ipswich has a vibrant and fast-growing food scene, with an exciting mix of restaurants across the waterfront and town centre. We’re looking forward to supporting that growth with our quality, range and service.”
Over the past year, JJ Foodservice has expanded its product range by 19% in partnership with suppliers, adding beers, wines and spirits, an extended alcohol offer and specialist Asian, Mediterranean and world food lines for foodservice operators.
The firm, a finalist in The Caterer’s 2026 Supplier Awards, first announced plans for an additional Midlands branch last year.
This followed the company securing a £3m-a-year deal with NEPO, the procurement arm of north east England local authorities.
In 2024, the wholesaler acquired London-based Gatelands Supplies as part of its expansion plans to supply Asian restaurants.
JJ Foodservice currently has 12 UK sites in Aston, Basingstoke, Bristol, Dagenham, Doncaster, Leeds, Leicester, Enfield, Manchester, Newcastle, Sidcup and Wimbledon.
