Green-starred restaurants are at “the forefront of the industry when it comes to their sustainable practices”
Homestead Kitchen in Whitby in North Yorkshire and Native in Tenbury Wells in Worcestershire were among five restaurants awarded green stars for sustainable gastronomy in the Michelin Guide Great Britain & Ireland 2025.
All five of the awards were given to English venues.
This year, the stars were presented at the Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum in Glasgow, the first time the red book has held its ceremony in Scotland.
According to the Michelin guide, green-starred restaurants are at “the forefront of the industry when it comes to their sustainable practices”. The red book said the selected restaurants offer dining experiences “that combine culinary excellence with outstanding eco-friendly commitments”.
Any restaurant in the guide is eligible for a green star, which were first awarded in 2020.
