The third-generation hotelier previously held roles across Hotel du Vin, Accor, Harbour hotels and Taplow House
John Willcock has been appointed general manager at the Nici Bournemouth.
The third-generation hotelier, originally from Poole, previously held roles across Hotel du Vin, Accor, Harbour hotels and Taplow House in Buckinghamshire.
He also spent five years with Macdonald hotels, where he served as general manager at the group’s Windsor and Marlow properties.
The 91-room Nici Bournemouth was launched in 2022 by Nicolas Roach, founder of the Harbour Hotels brand, and positioned itself as a Miami-inspired hotel and resort in the former site of the Savoy hotel.
The business secured a multimillion-pound funding package to expand last year to fund further expansion of the brand, with plans to open a second Nici hotel in Newquay.
Willcock said: “The Nici has already made a significant impact, and I look forward to further strengthening its positioning in the marketplace and cementing its place as the flagship hotel for the group. It’s a privilege to work again with several senior colleagues who share the same ethos and passion for exceptional hospitality.”
Lukasz D’Wornik, managing director for the Nici Group, added: “We are delighted to welcome John to the group. His track record, vision, and deep understanding of both the region and the luxury hospitality landscape make him the perfect fit to lead the Nici into its next phase."
